Paul Sumner, Senior Manager, is based in Analysys Mason’s Singapore office. Paul has been with Analysys Mason since 2000 and has vast experience in broadband and fixed markets, and a very strong background in wireless networks and technologies.
Paul has worked closely with operators, regulators, governments and financial institutions across the globe in support of strategic, operational and policy decisions. He has recently assessed the economics of fibre based next generation access networks in two Asian countries, and has worked with government bodies analysing the range of possible interventions (including FTTH, FTTC and WiMAX) to promote the deployment of both basic and advanced broadband services.
In addition, Paul has a strong regulatory background, having recently provided policy support to a Western European regulator for an upcoming spectrum award, and advising an operator lobbying for further regulation of the fixed line market in an emerging Asian country. Paul has also carried out an extensive range of due diligence assignments for financial institutions across the world, covering all areas in the telecoms sector.
